IEA Bioenergy

IEA Bioenergy is the short name for the international bioenergy collaboration within the Internaltional Energy Agency (IEA). The Implementing Agreement on Bioenergy forms part of a programme of international energy technology collaboration carried out under the auspices of the IEA. The collaboration began in 1978 as IEA Forestry Energy. It broadened its scope in 1986 to include non-forestry bioenergy. The number of participants has increased over the years as a result of the increasing interest in bioenergyworldwide. Currently 20 countries participate in IEA Bioenergy.
